The Phase One data collected from our membership has been invaluable and extremely helpful. David told us that there was unanimity throughout the church. Glenview Church is very united in its purpose and vision as we seek a Senior Pastor.

Here is one of many things captured in Focus Groups:

Top Ten things we said we desire in a pastor:
  1. Available/Approachable/Authentic
  2. Relates Well To All Demographics
  3. Has A Passion For/Knowledgable of God's Word
  4. Provides Inspired and Relevant Teaching
  5. Following Jesus Is A Priority In His Life
  6. Confident/Courageous/Fearless Confronting Issues Of Our Day
  7. Leads By Example (Tied)
Positive/Optimistic/Energetic For The Future Of Glenview (Tied)
  8. Engaged And Involved With Our Congregation
  9. Has Good Time Management Skills
10. Places A Priority On His Family Life

There was so much more that was shared and so much more yet to come. Here is a couple quotes from the briefing: "It is apparent the church is unified in its vision for a new leader to shepherd this [church]." One of the outstanding comments made was that "The youth of Glenview were ready and prepared to provide informed and mature input into the process...their comments mirrored the comments of our membership." Congratulations to our Student Leadership.

All of our reports will soon be shared with everyone.

PRAYER REQUEST:
Saturday, Oct 14, the Community Demographics sub committee of the PSC will meet to write its final report. Pray that this group will clearly see and understand the numbers and data at which it is looking. Pray for clarity as this group tries to compress this data into a manageable statement of need.

Monday, Oct 16, the PSC will meet again to develop a complete summary of all the data that has been accumulated. Pray that the PSC will represent well, every piece of information it has acquired. Pray that there is clarity and focus. The end result will determine how we approach Phase Two of the work...engaging with men who are potential candidates to be our Senior Pastor.
