Pastor Search Update - October 3, 2017

I want to begin by mentioning the need for prayer for the recent events in Las Vegas. Don't forget those impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

The Lord has been gracious to send Dr. Tony Wolfe and his family as our Interim Pastor. He has stepped into the pulpit of Glenview Church and delivered timely and challenging messages.

Your Pastor Search Committee (PSC) has compiled a church survey and conducted eight focus groups. So many wonderful and inspirational thoughts have been recorded concerning the needs and desires of our membership for a senior pastor.

In addition a community profile is being developed looking at demographics in a three to twenty mile radius around the church. We are learning so many good things that will lead our church to make many new friends in the future.

Lastly, an organizational analysis was conducted with two groups - the ministerial staff and church leadership. We examined our strengths, our weakness, our opportunities and potential pit falls. So much insight was gained through these meetings.

One common thread has wound its way through all of the analysis of our church. The membership of Glenview is strong, healthy, forward looking, care deeply about each other those in need of the Gospel message. What a tribute to the Lord Jesus.

The PSC will be meeting on Monday night, October 9. Pray for us as we will begin the process of assimilating all the data mentioned above into one complete narrative of our church, its needs and a profile of the kind of man our church desires to lead us into the future.

It is hoped that we will be posting ads for a senior pastor by November 1. There will be a 30-45 day window to respond. Then we will use December and January to sort through the qualified resumes and narrow the field of potential pastoral candidates. These are estimated dates. Your prayers are vitally important.

Pastor Tony Wolfe will lead us in a session on CONVERSATIONAL EVANGELISM: Sunday, October 8 at 6:00 PM. Considering the events of the last six weeks there are no doubt many are asking probing questions about life, death, sorrow and the meaning of it all.
